Sixers Tip Off Third Annual ‘Season of Giving’

20 Dec Sixers Tip Off Third Annual ‘Season of Giving’

On Tuesday, November 22, the Sixers tipped off our third Season of Giving event of the year in partnership with Toyota. Members of the U.S. Military joined forces with Hollis Thompson, T. J. McConnell, Robert Covington, Sergio Rodriguez and Sixers staff to form a force of over 200 volunteers as part of “Operation End Holiday Hunger”. The event was a great success, packaging well over 50,000 meals for at-risk youth who struggle with access to nutritious meals, particularly during the holidays when school is out of session.

The event was put together by Meals of Hope, a nonprofit organization dedicated to combatting hunger and food insecurity. A special thank you to the Boys & Girls Club of Philadelphia for generously lending their site for this important event. This team service event is part of the Sixers signature “Project 76” employee volunteer initiative, where all employees pledge 76 hours of service annually to our local communities.

Help our young people develop into the next generation of innovators and leaders.
