25 Nov Philadelphia 76ers Help Tip-Off Camden Youth Recreational Basketball
Over 200 Camden youth were on hand as the Philadelphia 76ers partnered with the Camden Health and Athletic Association to tip-off the recreational basketball programs Below the Rim, Camden Raiders, Centreville Simbas, and North Camden Youth Basketball Programs, all which operate across the city.
The young players and their families packed the gymnasium of Rutgers Camden University for an exciting afternoon of activities. Participants were entertained by the high-flying acrobatics and dancing of the Sixers Dunk Squad presented by Dunkin’ Donuts, as well as some great messages on hard work, perseverance, and goal setting by Sixers community ambassador and legend World B. Free.
The Camden youth then took to the courts for a skills and drills clinic. The clinic provided the participants the opportunity to learn more about the game of basketball and its fundamentals as well as the importance of sportsmanship.
Providing youth with meaningful opportunities to learn and play the game of basketball while also cultivating their appreciation for teamwork and sportsmanship is one of the fundamental ways in which the Sixers engage young people.
Throughout the season, the Sixers will continue to engage a large number of young people across Philadelphia and Camden both on and off the court.
Strong Youth. Strong Communities. Promising Futures. SIXERS STRONG.
