Celebrate 31st Annual PAL Night

19 Jan Celebrate 31st Annual PAL Night

Tonight, more than 300 PAL youth and 150 PAL officers attended our Police Athletic League (PAL) Night, which consisted of a competitive Media All-Star basketball game with local TV and radio personalities and a team of boys and girls representing the Cobbs Creek PAL Center from West Philadelphia.

Gerald Henderson received the Community Service award for being a role model to Philadelphia’s young people. This distinguished award was presented by Ted Qualli and Bernie Prazenica from PAL, along with Police Commissioner Richard Ross and Commanding Office Lieutenant Evelyn Cintron. PAL Officers Frank Rivera and Brian Younger received awards as well.

For over thirty years, PAL and the Sixers have maintained a close relationship, most recently supported by a record-setting $3.5-million development grant made by Philadelphia 76ers Managing General Partner Josh Harris via the Harris Family Charitable Foundation in August 2015. As demonstrated tonight, the Sixers and PAL proved that collaboratively through the power of sports, we can mold the next generation of leaders and innovators.

Help our young people develop into the next generation of innovators and leaders.
